Cheryl Ann Walker, 67, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday morning, September 24, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department. She was born in Lima on December 30, 1947 to the late Darrell and Margery (Sidener) Lehman. Cheryl was also preceded in death by a brother, Brent Lehman.

Cheryl married Larry R. Walker on August 8, 1970 in Lima and he survives in Bellefontaine. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Cathy Lehman of Lima; sister-in-law, Tammy McDonnell of Lima; several nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Lena Walker of Lima; and a special close friend, Barb Secrist Tobin of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Cheryl was a 1966 graduate of Lima Perry High School where she was class valedictorian. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1970. Cheryl taught for thirty years in the Bellefontaine City Schools and retired in 2000. She was a member of the Logan County Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and volunteered at Mary Rutan Hospital. Cheryl was also a poll worker and was the voice of the Mad River Dulcimer Society.

Cheryl was a member of First Lutheran Church, Bellefontaine where she was the music director for many years and had been the church organist since 1979. At church, she was active with the Faith Circle and Synod representative to WELCA.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Pastor William Saunders will officiate the funeral service on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11am at the First Lutheran Church, Bellefontaine where visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral. A private family graveside service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery, Auglaize County.
