Christopher David Vance, 43, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 as the result of an traffic accident in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born October 19, 1969, in Bellefontaine to David L. and Diane “Crickett” (Colyer) Vance who survive in Bellefontaine.

On August 19, 2000, he married Melissa Marshall in West Milton, Ohio and she survives along with their children, Mitchel, Dylan and Abigail. Also surviving are his siblings, Scott (Terri) Vance of Montgomery, Alabama and Melissa Schinker of Bellefontaine; his father and mother- in-law, Jim and Linda Marshall of West Milton, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A 1988 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Chris was a United States Army Reserve Veteran serving in Operation Desert Storm from 1988 to 1991. An Engineer for Honda of America Mfg. Inc., Chris worked in the Quality and Purchasing Divisions for twenty years and most recently was an Aflac insurance agent.

He attended the Philadelphia Lutheran Church in DeGraff, Ohio as a child and later the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. He enjoyed snowmobiling, target shooting and spending time with his family.

Deacon Harold Dipple will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine with military services by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

A memorial fund has been setup at the Honda Federal Credit Union for their children.
