Clara Elizabeth Brenneman Kauffman, 93, of West Liberty, Ohio, went to be with her Lord June 27, 2013, while residing at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.
Clara was born July 13, 1919, to the late John M. and Anna Good Brenneman of Elida.
On October 27, 1940, she married Delphos Kauffman at the Central Mennonite Church in Elida, Ohio and he preceded her in death September 26, 1975. She also was preceded in death by siblings, Victor (Maxine) Brenneman, Walter (Fern) Brenneman, Ralph (Caroline) Brenneman, Fred (Dorothy) Brenneman, Simon (Jean) Brenneman, John Brenneman, Blanche Brenneman and Grace (Clarence) Yoder.
Clara is survived by four daughters, Shirley of West Liberty, Jan (Jim) Brenneman and Dianne, both of Denver, and Kathy (Chris) Foust of Bellefontaine, Ohio; six grandchildren, Justin (Carrie) Foust, Jarrod Foust, Joseph (Leigh) Foust, Jennifer (Dave) Clements, Kari (Jeff) Keown and Benjamin Brenneman; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jenna, Ellie, Madeline, Myla, Hunter, George and Shiloh; siblings, Andrew (Ada) Brenneman and Louella (Wendell) Miller, both of Lima, Ohio; and many extended family members.
She was an esteemed homemaker and cook, who taught her daughters many life skills, and was a strong proponent of work before play. Clara was employed at Green Hills for nine years. Clara especially enjoyed the visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As an active member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty, Clara gave her time and skills for the good of others.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty.
