Clarence “Slim” N. Springer, 90, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma August 16, 1919, to the late Edward P. and Ella (Sackett) Springer.

On August 26, 1945 he married Barbara McCormick in Covington, Kentucky, and she survives along with two daughters, Karen (Ralph) Huntzinger of Columbus, Ohio, and Terry Sickles of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, James (Judy) Springer of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Eugene (Anita) Springer of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; two sisters, Leona Cornejo of Amarillo, Texas, and Dorothy Sprouse of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was an infant son, Thomas Dale Springer; brothers, Dewell and Paul Springer; and a sister, Rosemary Miller.

Clarence was a group leader at D.A.B. in Bellefontaine and retired in 1983, after twenty eight years of service. He later worked for Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church, a member of the American Legion Post #173, and formerly the Hi-Point See-Saw’s. He enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards.

Pastor Karen Cassedy and Rev. Russell D. Williams will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio, with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
