Clifford Risner, Sr

Clifford Duane Risner, Sr., 77, of Kenton, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.

He was born February 16, 1935 in Hardin County Ohio, to the late Henry Clay and Cora Belle (Risner) Risner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Max, Elmer, Eva and Betty.

Surviving are three sons, Philip (Lisa) Risner, Cliff Risner, Jr., both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tim Risner of LaRue, Ohio; two daughters, Vicki (Charles) Highners of Clarksville, Tennessee and Teresa (Tim Scott) Risner of LaRue; a brother, Don (Barb) Risner of Holden, Ohio; two sisters, Carol (Don) Hassan of Kenton and Karen “Faye” (Freddy) Sheets of Belle Center, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with one more on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a 1954 Belle Center High School graduate and was a United States Army Veteran after serving from 1954 to 1957 in Germany. Clifford worked for Teledyne Ohio Steel of Lima, Ohio as a bricklayer and retired September 10, 1988, after twenty five years of service.

Clifford was a member of the American Legion in Bellefontaine, and enjoyed fishing and morel mushroom hunting. He loved sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Calling hours are Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, where Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Friday, August 24, 2012. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
