Clinton Johnston

Clinton Douglas Johnston, 31, of Haw River, North Carolina and formerly of Bellefontaine passed away Saturday morning, October 8, 2016 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his loving family at his side.

Clinton was born in Bellefontaine on September 6, 1985. He lived his life to the fullest. Clinton loved riding motorcycles with his friends and was never afraid to try something new. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and his kindness to all.

Clinton graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 2004. He then went on to serve in the US Army in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then went to work at Honda Power Equipment in Haw River, North Carolina as a die cast machine operator where he made engine cylinder barrels sold world-wide. Clinton also studied Industrial Engineering at the University of North Carolina.

Clinton is survived by his parents, Steve Johnston of Bellefontaine, Janet (Kyle) Stroud of Vernon, Florida; a sister Bridgette Phillips of Chipley, Florida; a brother Justice Stroud of Vernon, Florida. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.

Clinton was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Don and Barbara Johnston and maternal grandparents Earl and Lillian Mick.

Pastor Max Jackson will officiate the funeral service on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine where visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10am to 1pm. Burial will be in East Liberty Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
