Corey Wade Frost

Corey Wade Frost was born March 15, 1962 to Ruby Snarr Frost and Donn Wade Frost of West Liberty. Corey ran his final race July 23, 2018 as he crossed over to be with his heavenly family.

Corey graduated in 1980 from West Liberty Salem High School, where he was an All Ohioan in Cross Country and track.  He was also a member of the National Honor Society. He went to Cleveland State on a full athletic scholarship and graduated cum laude. Corey attended Case Western, where he earned his law degree, once again graduating with honors.

Corey began his law career in Cleveland working in various legal positions. After leaving Cleveland, Corey worked in Nebraska before coming back to West Liberty to care for his aging mother. Corey taught law at the University of Phoenix in Columbus and was currently practicing law in various counties in Ohio.

Corey was a member of the West Liberty United Church of Christ, the West Liberty Lions Club, an inductee into the West Liberty Athletic Hall of Fame, as well as the Cleveland State Athletic Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing, researching family genealogy, and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Corey was preceded in death by his father, Donn W. Frost; nephew, Stanley Grohowski, and his longtime loyal best friend, Bert.

Corey is survived by his mother, Ruby Frost; sisters, Anita Frost and Rebecca (Carl) Grohowski; nephews, Jay R. Fox and Grant (Elizabeth) Grohowski; 2 great nieces; one great-great nephew and one great-great niece; as well as numerous cousins. Corey is also survived by many friends he met on his life journey. He is loved dearly and will be missed deeply.

Pastor Kay Young will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the West Liberty United Church of Christ, 212 W. Newell Street, West Liberty. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28th at the church.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
