Cristine R. Hanenkrat

Cristine R. Hanenkrat, age 102, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Friday morning, February 2, 2018 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.

She was born in West Liberty July 22, 1915, to the late Alva Earl and Ina (Mann) Rupert. Cristine married Alfred E. Hanenkrat June 21, 1936 in West Liberty, and he preceded her in death in 1989.  She was also preceded in death by siblings Gretchen Rupert, Celia Stafford, Patrice McAdams, Rodger Rupert, William Allen Rupert, Neil F. Rupert, and Richard K. Rupert.

Cristine is survived by her sister, Sue Hostetler of West Liberty and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cristine was a 1933 graduate of West Liberty High School and a member of the West Liberty Presbyterian Church.  She was an amazing cook and enjoyed sewing and making flower arrangements.  Cristine was also a member of the American Daffodil Society and the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, both of which she was an accredited judge traveling nationally judging flowers shows, fairs and other contests.  She was also a member of the Shiloh Springs Garden Club.

Pastor Keith Landis will officiate the funeral service Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1 P.M. at the West Liberty Presbyterian Church in West Liberty where visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.  Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.

The family was assisted with arrangements by the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
