Dale Winner

Dale L. Winner, 69, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011, at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born March 7, 1942 in Osgood, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Veronica “Verona” (Berning) Winner.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Lefeld) Winner in 1975 and his brother, Don Winner.

He is survived by his sons, Doug (Jackie) Winner of Piqua, Ohio, Patrick (Elizabeth) Winner of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jason Winner of Highland, New York; a daughter, Stacey Winner of Tiffin, Ohio; brothers, Ernie (Joanne) Winner of Lakeland, Florida, Jim (Pat) Winner of Minster, Ohio, Virgil (Sharon) Winner of Dayton, Ohio and Jerry (Donna) Winner of Minster; sisters, Irene (Harold) Stammen of New Bremen, Ohio and Theresa (Urban) Holthaus of Ft. Loramie, Ohio;
and Ruth (Jim) Dorsten of Port Orange, Florida; a sister-n-law, Elsie Winner of Celina, Ohio; grandchildren, Jarrett, Dustin, Emily, and Ethan; his special friend, Linda Coats of West Mansfield, Ohio and her daughters, Shauna Chapman of Richwood, Ohio and Kristi Bothel of West Mansfield, Ohio; and his ex-wife, Vicki Winner of Troy, Ohio.

Dale retired from UPS in 1999 after thrity three years of service. He owned and operated Dales Coffee Corner and All Occasion Catering, both of Bellefontaine. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua and served in the National Guard. He worked as a football referee for twenty seven years and enjoyed golfing.

Calling hours are Thursday, August 11, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Father Tom Grilliot will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral mass Friday, August 12, 2011, at the St. Mary Catholic Church 513 Broadway in Piqua with visitation from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow the mass in the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Piqua.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Caring Neighbors Food Pantry, East Liberty Charge, c/o North Greenfield United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
