Dallas Prater

Dallas Prater, 65, of Bellefontaine passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 21, 1951, the son of the late Oral and Ruby (Brewer) Prater. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Don Prater and infant daughter Stacie Sue Prater.

On May 12, 1975, he married Sue E. (Payne) Prater and she survives along with one daughter, Donna Peters and a son, Tracy (Candy) Prater, all of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren: Brittney Sue Godwin, Jason Peters Jr., Garrett Prater and Grace Prater; five sisters: Louise Bausman, Virginia Ahlbrand, Carol Prater, Christine Prater and Darlene Johnson; and one brother, Oral Prater, Jr.

Dallas was a U.S. Army Veteran and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He worked and retired from I.C.P. in Marysville. He volunteered at Our Daily Bread as well at the Top of Ohio Animal Shelter.

Margaret Ball will officiate a funeral service on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 11:00am in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday December 27, 2016 and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
