Whether hunting, fishing or playing cards, Dan Pitts lived his life to the fullest. However early Sunday morning, April 11, 2021, he played his last hand.
Dan Marvin Pitts, 74, was born in Sidney, Ohio February 4, 1947, to the late Marvin and Audrey (Andrews) Pitts. He was also preceded in death by his loving grandmother Fairie (Pence) Pitts.
Dan married Roberta Harshbarger April 7, 1997 in Sevierville, Tennessee and she survives in Lakeview, Ohio. He was blessed with children: Tammie (Dan) Sharrock, Troy (Dianne) Pitts, Josh (Angie Wilt) Pitts, Jess (Krista Clay) Pitts, Danielle (Ed) Wycuff, Paula (David) Applegate, Darcy (Gary) Schmerge and Andrea (Jim) Kirtley. Those children blessed him with grandchildren: Tyler and Troy Welsh, Gauge, Chloee and Lindsey Sharrock, Logan (Zach) Watercutter, Jenna (Joseph Berning) Pitts, Madisyn Pitts, Braydan and Ethan Pitts, Edan, Dane, Ande and Dean Wycuff, Zach Welly, Olivia (Ethan Monnier) Welly, Lucas and Josephine Kirtley; a great-grandson, Kolton Watercutter and great-granddaughter Sadie Sharrock Shroyer; a brother, Lee (Mary Lou) Pitts; many nieces, nephews and a tight group of friends.
Dan was a 1965 graduate of Botkins High School and worked his entire life. He retired from CSX Transportation in 2007 as a mechanic. Dan loved farming – especially with his International Harvester machinery and most recently he delivered Air Tow trailers east of the Mississippi.
Pastor Kris Geise will officiate a graveside service Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center, Ohio is honored to serve the Pitts family.
