Daniel Bruce Fultz, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 7:35 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Belle Springs Nursing and Rehab in Bellefontaine.
He was born August 16, 1934 in Bellefontaine, a son of the late Luther Gilbert and Myrtle Falice (Grubbs) Fultz. In 1951, his very special uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Gladys E. (Bell) Fultz welcomed him into their home after living fourteen years in the Osterlen Children’s Home
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Gladys; a brother, Alvin L. Fultz; several cousins, Sally and Dick Fultz Lyman, Lee Fultz, Bob and Marion Fultz and Janet Fultz.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Marie Henry whom he married December 18, 1955 in Bellefontaine. Also surviving are their children, Kathy Fultz of Bellefontaine, Jeff (Beth) Fultz of Batavia, Beverly (Bryan) Zehner of Springboro and Diana (John) Drake of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Andy Drake, Amy (Mike) Kerns, Tommy Drake, Jared Crapes, Amanda (Wil) Beckwith, Brandy (Joshua) Hawthorne and Brittany (Brian) Whitten; twenty great-grandchildren; his siblings, Benjamin Fultz of Etna, Eileen Gault, and Jeannie Garrett both of Huber Heights; several cousins, Kenneth Fultz and George Fultz and several nieces and nephews.
After his graduation in 1953 from Zanesfield-Monroe High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1957 serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine where he taught Sunday school and sang in the Church choir for several years. He coached little league baseball and loved to play golf. He was a member of the Senior League at Cherokee Golf Club.
Daniel worked at Merchants Industries for fourteen years as print set-up and twenty five years at A&I Supply working at the counter. Additionally he also worked at Westinghouse and National Extrusion & Manufacturing, both of Bellefontaine.
Daniel was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa to his family.
Pastor Larry Novak will officiate a memorial service Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Fultz family.
