Darlene L. Arthur, 57, of Belle Center passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016 at her home after a three year battle with cancer.
She was born in Hardin County on June 7, 1958 to Herbert Joseph and Bernadette Ethel (Roof) Bensman. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Bensman, on February 26, 2001; sisters Barbara A. Coons, Susan M. Gildow and Carol J. Bensman; brothers-in-law Larry E. Sickles, Gary E. Hesser and William L. Allen; a sister-in-law Cheryl Bensman.
A 1976 graduate of Urbana High School, Darlene worked at Siemens and later at Belletech. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Russells Point and the Indian Lake Moose. Darlene was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed vacations and traveling. Her family and grandkids were dear to her heart.
Darlene married Phil Arthur on December 28, 1995 and he survives in Belle Center. She is also survived by her mother, Bernadette E. Bensman of Bellefontaine; children: Duane (Natalie) Harrington of West Liberty, Tyler (Lacy) Arthur of Belle Center, Michelle (Duane) Grooms of Columbus, Craig (Michele) Comstock of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Liam Harrington, Korbin Arthur, Cole Comstock, Carisse Comstock, Chloe Grooms and Gavin Grooms; siblings: Ruth A. Sickles of Belle Center, Ronald J. Bensman of Bellefontaine, Jinny L. (Tom) Gimbel of Lake Havasu, Arizona, , Linda K. Allen of Belle Center, Donna A. Hesser of Belle Center, Robert J. Bensman of Bellefontaine, Dennis A. (Debbie) Bensman of Lewistown, Gary L. Bensman of Bellefontaine and Herbert J. “Herbie” Bensman of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 4-8pm. Fr. Shawn Landenwitch will officiate a funeral service on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
