Darlene Sue Ball

Darlene Sue Ball, age 72, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2018 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in Ravenna, Ohio October 4, 1945, to the late John “Jack” Porter and Lois (Smith) Porter Stapleton.

Sue married Phillip Carl Ball September 11, 1964 in Zanesfield, Ohio and he preceded her in death June 30, 2009. Sue was also preceded in death by sisters Lois “Toots” Munz and Connie Napier and a brother-in-law, Tom Sheeley.

Sue is survived by her children, Deborah (Dick) Kopus of DeGraff, Ohio, Candy (Paul) Powell of Bellefontaine, Vicki (Tim) Spring of Lakeview, Ohio and Phillip (April) Ball Jr. of Bellefontaine; nine grandchildren, Brandie Wren, Stephanie McCullough, Britanie Watkins, Corey Brunk, Danielle Brunk, Renee Pardue, Marissa Ball, Austin Spring, and Charlotte Ball; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Dianna Sheeley of Bellefontaine, John (Sandy) Porter of Bellefontaine, Patti (Tommy) Wipf of Silverton, Colorado, Beverly Butterfield of Huntsville, Ohio, Kim (Don) Murtha of Dallas, Texas, Karen (Bob) Davis of Lakeview, and Arthur “Bud” (Heather) Stapleton of Springfield, Ohio; brothers-in-law J.D. Napier and Wally Munz of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue worked as a cook at TP Lanes in Bellefontaine for twenty plus years and was a secretary for Sims & Huber Moving Company for many years. She enjoyed bowling and loved to play Shang-hi rummy and poker. Sue was a member of the Indian Lake Moose and the AmVets.

Visitation will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5 to 7 P.M. where a celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 7 P.M.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
