David Doss


David Earl Doss, 66, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 5:15 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio April 17, 1946, a son of the late David E. and Gertrude F. (Castl) Doss. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brothers-in-law, Alvin Johnson and Vince (Luella “Sis”) Matsnagougha.

He is survived by daughters, Angela (Beau) Monroe of Lakeview, Ohio, Misty (Larry) Kuczynski of Parma Heights, Ohio; sons, Tony (Kelly) Doss of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Mike (Dede) Doss of Bellefontaine and Tim (Patti) Doss of Plainfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Cassie, Steven, Joel, Amber, Jarrett, Paige, Ben, Shelby; sister, Jean Johnson of Dayton, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; longtime friends John and Barb Keating of Lewistown, Ohio and the mother of his children, Janet Bodi of Lakeview.

David was a 1964 graduate of Lewistown High School and a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society in Bellefontaine, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Russells Point, Ohio. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting. He was employed as an inspector at Master Swaging in Jackson Center, Ohio and also at Crown Equipment in New Bremen, Ohio.

Deacon Harold Dipple will officiate the funeral service Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the Myron Van Horn Chapel of Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, where calling hours are Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at the Bear Creek Hill Grove Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio at 1:00 PM on Friday.

The staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio assisted the family with the arrangements.
