David Lee Jacobs

David Lee “Jake” Jacobs, age 77, of Belle Center, Ohio and formerly of Huntsville, Ohio passed away at 3:22 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. He was born in Huntsville March 11, 1940, to the late David O. and Marietta (Baldwin) Jacobs. On November 26, 1976, he married Nancy Jo (Plikard) Jacobs and she preceded him in death December 27, 2007.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty (Ty) Davis of West Liberty, Ohio; a son, Chad (Kandy) Jacobs of Rushsylvania, Ohio and his grandchildren, Hannah, McKinsey, Cameron, Breshon, and Britanna.

Dave graduated from the Ohio State Barber College.  He was a barber for forty two years and owned and operated the Varsity K Barber Shop in Kenton, Ohio.  Dave enjoyed sports, especially golf and bowling.  Classic cars were his passion. He loved his Thunderbirds, particularly his 1962 and 2002 models. Dave enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and being around his family. All who loved him will miss him.

Pastor Ed Spragen will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Harper Community Church. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville.

The family requests you bring your classic cars for the procession to the cemetery in honor of Dave.
