David Henry Polter, 65, of Sidney passed away Monday morning, April 18, 2016 at his home. He was born in Fremont, Ohio on May 16, 1950 to Henry and Joan (Webber) Polter. David was preceded in death by his father Henry and a brother Rocky Polter.
David was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Viet Nam War. He worked as a welder at General Dynamics for 25 years before retiring. David was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sidney and enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
David is survived by his wife Cathy (Thompson) Polter, whom he married on March 17, 1975. He is also survived by his mother Joan Polter of Fremont; daughters: Tanya Cathleen (Ben) Haverfield of Anna, Michelle Marie (Doug) Knipp of Mt. Gilead and Carla and Steve Koronich of Arizona; four grandchildren: Bethany Marie Haverfield, Thomas Haverfield; Casey Knipp, Cindel Knipp, a brother Victor Polter of Fremont; niece Michelle Polter of Fremont and a great-nephew Jordan Polter.
Pastor Kenneth Castor will officiate a funeral service on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 300 W. Mason Road, Sidney.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sidney American Legion.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center.
