David I. Wren, 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday evening, August 11, 2015 at Green Hills Care Center.
He was born in Lewistown, OH on December 20, 1921 to the late Homer Allen and Alice Irene (Houchin) Wren. He married the former Margaret E. Coy in March of 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy LeVan; a son, Terry Wren; grandson, Mark Losey; and three sisters and three brothers.
David was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army Air Corps. Following the war, he returned to Logan County and worked at Westinghouse before retiring. David was also a farmer and enjoyed his tractors, being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by sons, David R. (Dara) Wren of Bellefontaine and Dennis (Donna) Wren of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, Deanne (David) LaRoche, Matt (Libby) Losey, Christy (Al) Couch, Jillynn (Shane) Meyer, Denise (Scott) Scherer, Brenda (Greg) Beecher, Stacy Wren, Troy (Melissa) Wren, Tess Losey and Tracey Frank; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister Martha Faelchle of Oceanside, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Ron Irick will officiate a graveside service at 1pm at Rae Cemetery on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine on Saturday, August 15 from 11am – 12:30pm.
