Debra Kay Vickers, 65, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, after a 5-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born in Bellefontaine on November 4, 1957, to Tempa and the late Delmar D. Cox. She is also preceded in death by her son, Johnathan Adams; mother and father-in-law: Minnietta and Leonard Brown Jr.; brothers: Delmar “Dean” Cox Jr., Michael, Jerry, and Terry Cox; brother-in-law, Joe Shoemaker and sister-in-law, Sara Vickers.
On May 7, 1992, she married Greg Vickers and he survives in Bellefontaine.
She is also survived by her children: Angel (Mel Ian) Baker, Bill (Rachel) Thompson, and Greg II (Hannah) Vickers; step-children: Ladawn Vickers, Cassie Vickers, Ezell “Nate” (Laurie) Vickers, and Nikki Vickers Givens; siblings: Larry (Judi) Cox, Susan (Vern) Yelton, Juanita (Andy Defibaugh) Shoemaker, and July (Bob) Culp; brother-in-law, Stuart (Angie) Vickers; sister-in-law, Vanessa (Nate Edwards) Vickers; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Debb loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She knew how to make everyone laugh and most importantly she showed her family how strong she really was through her long battle with cancer. She touched so many lives and hearts and will be missed deeply.
There will be a celebration of life for Debb at Goshen Friends Church, 5527 County Road 153, Zanesfield, Ohio 43360 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
