Delena VanVoorhis

Delena Mae VanVoorhis, 44, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on January 2, 1965, to Harvey Jr. and Mae V. Spradlin Salyer. She was preceded in death by her father in 2004.

Survivors include her mother, Mae; her husband, Michael A. VanVoorhis, whom she married on January 25, 1992 in Bellefontaine, Ohio; a brother, Paul (Tiffany) Salyer of Urbana, Ohio; a sister Elizabeth Salyer of Bellefontaine; and several nieces, nephews and a great niece and nephew.

A manager for Community Market in Bellefontaine, Delena was a 1983 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and enjoyed reading, babysitting and crafts.

Calling hours are Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 2 P.M. to 4P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Greg Haisley will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 17, 2009. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
