Deloris Joan Houser, 87 of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
She was born May 31, 1925 in Quincy, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rev. Clarence A. and Norma L. (Rose) Hubbell. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger E. Hubbell.
On June 8, 1944, she married Robert M. Houser by Rev. Rose in Covington, Kentucky. They just recently celebrated their sixth-eighth anniversary.
In addition to her husband, family members include daughters, Linda L. (Terry) Houser Parsons of California, Sandra S. (Robert) Houser Lambert of Grove City, Ohio; sons, David R. (MaryAnn) Houser of Arizona and California, Steven J. (Jeanne) Houser of Lakeview, Ohio, Ronald J. (Barbara) Houser of Bellefontaine, Ohio; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph O. (Vaude) Hubbell of Lima, Ohio; 2 nephews, and granddog, Katie.
A loving wife and mother, her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was active in the Sunny Hills camping club, N.C.H.A., loved working in her yard, was a former 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher, an honorary Kentucky Colonel and did missionary work with N.O.M.A.D.S. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her greatest love was being with her husband and family.
Pastor Harold Braley will officiate the funeral service at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are Friday, September 21, 2012, from 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
