Dereck Lee LeVan, 36, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 3, 2010 at his home. He was born in Bellefontaine February 10, 1974, the son of Jerry (Robin) LeVan and Debbie Shreve (Roger) Evans whom all survive.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Terri (Colin) Ward of Bellefontaine, Stevie (Josh) Barnes of Lewistown, Ohio, Terin (Dustin) Splawn of Sycamore, Ohio, Mariah LeVan of Lewistown, and Dustin LeVan, also of Lewistown; a nephew, Hunter Splawn and a niece, Sarah Barnes; maternal grandmother, Winnifred “Winnie” Shreve; and his fiancé of sixteen years, Tina Daniels; a very close cousin, Duncan Gardner and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Shreve and Charles LeVan and grandmother, Maude “Betty” LeVan.
He was a devoted music fan, especially the Grateful Dead. He played guitar, rode motorcycles and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University Buckeye fan.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with Pastor Mike Sandlin officiating. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, Ohio.
