Diane J. Lawless

Diane J. Lawless, 93, of Sunbury and formerly of West Liberty, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 21, 2023, at Bennington Glen Nursing & Rehab Center, Marengo, Ohio.

Diane was born in Akron, Ohio, on January 12, 1930, to the late Homer R. and Mildred Cookston Banks.  She is survived by a daughter, Chris Lawless of Sunbury, Ohio; 3 sons: Greg Lawless of Panama, Gary (the late Barbara) Lawless, and Kevin (Jane) Lawless, both of The Villages, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Azlin of California.

A graduate of West Liberty High School, Diane attended Ft. Wayne Bible College and was honored to sing on stage with Billy Graham.  Diane worked as an Executive Secretary at the Borden Company until she retired in 1995.  She played the piano for several area churches.  In her spare time, Diane enjoyed playing cards and going to the Logan County Friendly Senior Center.

Pastor Rocky Riddle will officiate Diane’s graveside service on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 3pm at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
