Dolores V. “Lolly” Helmlinger, 76, of Lakeview, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2015 at her home. She was born in Goshen, Indiana on August 1, 1938 to the late Edward and Mary (Tharp) Maurer. Lolly was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Judy Pickering and Pat Spees; and 2 brothers, Phil Maurer and Greg Maurer.
Lolly worked at several businesses, primarily in sales, including Olan Mills, Tim Hogan’s Carpet Outlet, GE Capital, and had been a hostess at the casino. She loved arts, crafts and was a very good seamstress. Lolly was instrumental in helping develop the Anna Park. In her later years, she enjoyed using the internet to do research.
Lolly is survived by her husband, William Helmlinger of Lakeview whom she married on March 26, 1966 in Harrod, Ohio; children: Robbin Broaddrick of Sidney, Jon (Linda) Ciminillo of Tipp City and Timri (Mark) Berning of Anna; six grandchildren: Joshua and Che Riegel, Ty and Ashley Broaddrick, Dennis (Kristi) Berning and Casie (Scot) Kitzmiller; nine great- grandchildren: Natalie Berning, Briley Moses, Miles Kitzmiller, Naomi Riegel, Kennedy Brewer, Mason and Cadence Berning, Savana and Chloe Riegel; two sisters, Mary Root of DeGraff and Shirley (Dave) Slaybaugh of Colonial Heights, Virginia; a brother-in-law Dale Helmlinger of Vandalia; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Krugh and Carolyn Metz; and many nieces and nephews.
Pastor Michael Althauser will officiate a memorial service on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 12 noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Private burial will be in Pearl Cemetery at a later date.
