Dolores Jean Lawson, 89, of Pickerington, Ohio and formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 8:40 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Keyhole, Kentucky April 1, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Carrie Cooper.
On March 25, 1949, she married Gene Lawson after meeting two weeks earlier on a blind date. Their marriage lasted sixty nine years and Gene survives.
She is also survived by four children, Peggy Lawson of Pickerington, Linda Lawson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Thomas Lawson of Bellefontaine and Jacalyn (Greg) Clark of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Thomas (Nikki) Lawson, Aaron Clark, Rachel Clark, and Samuel Clark; one great-granddaughter, Donna Lawson and another on the way in January 2019.
She was preceded in death by twelve siblings.
Dolores was a homemaker, raised her children, and then went to work for Siemens in Urbana, Ohio retiring in 1986. Before moving away, she was a member of the Goshen Friends Church in Zanesfield, Ohio where she enjoyed singing solos. She enjoyed reading the Bible, growing flowers, and spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed flea marketing in Florida and West Chester, Ohio.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 12 noon to 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ohio.
Funeral services will be private and burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
