Don Carpenter

Don R. Carpenter, 75, of Gambier and formerly of DeGraff, Ohio passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on June 24, 1939 to the late Don Travers and Viola Mae (Hinkle) Carpenter Hazlegrove.

Don is survived by his two children; Holly Couch of Ottumwa, Iowa and Todd (Monica) Carpenter of St. Louisville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Katie Couch, Scott Couch, Calob Carpenter and Cameron Carpenter; two sisters, Karen Sue (Paul) Carpenter Staley of Saline, Michigan and Jo Ann (Buford) Carpenter Adams of Rangely, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was a retired systems analyst from Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon. A U.S. Navy veteran, he enjoyed traveling, photography and working with electronics.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio.
