Donald William Culp

Donald William “Bill” Culp, 91, of Rushsylvania, Ohio passed away Monday morning May 17, 2021, at Hospice of Central Ohio in Columbus, Ohio.

Bill was born in Belle Center, Ohio January 16, 1930, to the late John Otto and Clara Lucretia (McAdams) Culp. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Carlos, John, Everett and Carl Culp and his sisters Miriam Curler and Virginia Miller.

Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Zemarel) Culp whom he married August 28, 1983 at Goshen Friends Church in Zanesfield, Ohio.  He is also survived by children: Don (Kim) Culp of New Albany, Ohio, Bob (Judy) Culp of Rushsylvania, Joy (Bill) Gates of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dave (Joyce) Culp of Orlando, Florida, Bill (Lorrie) Culp of Alexandria, Kentucky, Scott (Michele) Culp of Apopka, Florida, Suzanne (Danny) Cummins of Elkins, West Virginia, Diane (Walter) Sexton of Grove City, Ohio and Peter D. Gereluk of Columbus; twenty one grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill loved his big family and treasured the time spent with them.

A 1948 graduate of Rushsylvania High School, Bill also graduated from Indiana Technical University in Ft. Wayne with an Aerospace Engineering degree.  He served in the United States Air Force for four years and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after thirty plus years of work.  Bill was a Scout Master for Rushsylvania Troop #51 where all five sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  As a licensed pilot, Bill loved to fly.  He was a longtime member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship where he led Bible groups for numerous years.  Bill also opened his home to share God’s word for many years.

Pastor Eric Cook will officiate a memorial service for Bill Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Bellefontaine, Ohio where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at a later date in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Culp family.
