Donald Lee Horner, Sr., 67, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday evening at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Room. He was born in Kenton on June 11, 1948 to the late Albert O. and Anna V. (Pugh) Horner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dilia Luz (Guzman) Horner; daughter, Vanessa Horner; eight grandchildren; sister, Virginia Mabrey and brothers, Doug and Albert Horner.
Don was a veteran of the US Marines and served during the Viet Nam War. He worked many years as a driver for RTC and prior to his stroke, he enjoyed going to the YMCA. Don attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Bellefontaine.
Don is survived by a daughter, Katherine (Chris) Stohl of California; a son, Don L. (Shawna) Horner, Jr. of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Sydney, Savannah and Brooklyn Horner and Dante, Eli, Alex and Peyton Stohl; three sisters, Patricia Watkins and Lola McKinley both of Kenton and Elizabeth Shepherd of Clarkston, Washington; three brothers, Mike Horner of Marion, Tom Horner of Charlotte, North Carolina and Daniel Horner of Kenton.
Pastor Eric Cook will officiate a Celebration of Don’s life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 6:30 pm at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 624 Twp. Rd. 55, Bellefontaine, OH 43311, with visitation a half hour prior to the service. There will be Military Honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Eternal View Cemetery, Oceanside, California.
