Donald L. Hudson, age 104, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away at 8:31 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton, Ohio.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio May 13, 1913, the son of the late James Leo and Bessie (Goings) Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine (Elix) Hudson in 2005 and his brother, LaVerne Hudson.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharron (Al) Klahr of Lakeview, Ohio; two sons, Doug (Jane) Hudson of Lakeview and Mark Hudson of Ft. Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Henry Hudson of Ft. Worth, Tyler Wright of Dallas, Texas, Kyle Wright of Columbus, Ohio and Brad (Liz) Hudson of West Liberty; four great grandchildren, Kayla, Luke, Gabbi, and Joy Hudson.
Donald graduated from Springfield High School in 1931. In his life he had many careers. He was a butcher, worked as a tool and die maker, then as an inspector for many years. He loved building and woodworking and was known to build a canoe, bass boat, and crossbows. You name it, he could build it. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool and poker, all of which he did well to the age of 100.
Pastor David Hafenbrack will officiate a service at 12 noon Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the chapel of the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
