Donald P. Knoff, age 83, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, October 2, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.

He was born in Logan County Ohio January 4, 1931, to the late William and Carrie (Strain) Knoff. He was also preceded in death by a brother James Knoff and brother-in-laws, Max Hartzler and Charles McMellen.

Don is survived by his sisters, Mary Ruth (Lee) Tuttle of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Nora McMellen of Greenville, Michigan, and Phyllis Hartzler of West Liberty, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was a 1949 graduate of Monroe High School, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Manchester during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier for the Bellefontaine Post Office. Don was a life-member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the West Liberty United Church of Christ.

Pastors Floyd Lundy and Paul Forrey will conduct the funeral service Monday, October 6, 2014 at 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty where friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow the funeral service at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
