Donald Eugene Ruble, 71, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away at 8:20 P.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Heartland of Bellefontaine in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Belle Center January 27, 1942, to the late Alpha and Geraldine (Royer) Ruble. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Bair and a brother, Ed Ruble.
On December 31, 1960, he married the former Essie F. Butler and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Lori (Jim) Clary of Belle Center and Donna (Ken) Gilroy of Waynesfield, Ohio; a son-in-law, Rod Bair of Zanesfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Holly) Bair and Cody Dickinson, both of Belle Center, Layne (Brian) Smith of Delaware, Ohio, Zach Gilroy, Zane Gilroy and Halie Gilroy, all of Waynesfield, Dallas (Stephanie) Clary, Brandon (Megan) Clary and Dustin (Whitney) Clary, all of Bellefontaine; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Judy (John) Pearson of Kenton, Ohio; two brothers, John Ruble of Belle Center and Bill (Joyce) Ruble of Bellefontaine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald retired as a self-employed contractor and had previously worked at Westinghouse for twenty one years. He was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church. Donald was also very active in local politics, serving on the Belle Center village council for several years and as Mayor from 1992 to 2007. He was also a former member of the Richland Township Fire Dept.
Rev. Jim Burton will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center. Calling hours are Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
