Donald Gene “Donnie” Vanover, 48, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 25, 1968, a son of Bobby B. Barber of Bluefield, West Virginia and the late Patricia (Ferry) Barber. He was also preceded in death by his long-time companion, Kathy Lawson.
Donald is also survived by his half-brother, Bobby (Ashley) Barber of Fort Collins, Colorado; an uncle, Mike Vanover of Bellefontaine; a step-son, Joshua Cruey; two step-sisters, Teresa Barber of Lake Placid, Florida and Sandy (John Newcomb) Reid of DeGraff; a step-brother, David (Lori) Barber of DeGraff; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A 1986 graduate of Bluefield High School, Donnie continued his education at Bluefield State College, where he earned his Associate’s Degree. He loved his cats and enjoyed music, watching sports, and especially spending time with his family.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
