Dora McCully

Dora Marjorie McCully, 93, of Middleburg and formerly of DeGraff and Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in West Mansfield, Union County, on July 3, 1923 to the late Caleb Leroy and Mary Martha (Eddy) Ballinger. Dora married the love of her life C. Rupert McCully on June 13, 1944 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Morgan Alayne McCully, a sister Belle Mathys, and brothers Dale, Paul, Floyd and Ray Ballinger.

Dora is survived by her children: Ron (Debbie) McCully, Becky (Jim) Vocaire, Trudy (Jim) Burnside, Tina (Bob) Beatty, Margie (Doug) Mosbarger, Marvin (Becky) McCully and Amy (Jeff) Blackwell; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and her 1st great-great-grandchild is due in September; a sister-in-law Shirley Phelps and several nieces and nephews.

A 1941 graduate of York Center High School, Dora was a homemaker and a retired tractor-trailer owner and driver with Rupert. They were the original owners of Orphan Annie’s Yummy Treats in DeGraff. After retiring, they worked for the MAPS RV Ministry for four years. Dora was a member of the First Church of God, Bellefontaine and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, on Wednesday, August 31, from 4-8pm and on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from noon – 1pm at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, 1000 East Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, OH 43311, where Pastor Gary Brown will officiate the funeral service at 1pm. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
