Doris E. Foulk

Doris E. Foulk, age 98, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Monday morning, January 31, 2022, at Ayden Healthcare of Belle Springs.  

Doris was born in Logan County September 17, 1923, to the late Frank and Sylvia (Burden) Lowe.  She married Russell H. Foulk October 20, 1939, and he preceded her in death October 24, 1991.  Doris was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dan Richards; brothers: Wilbur Glen Lowe and Adrian Lowe and a sister, Marie Stillwagon.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Deb Richards of Bellefontaine; two granddaughters: Renee (Dwight) Newman of Belle Center, Ohio and Christen (Jeremy) Stanley of West Liberty, Ohio; a step-granddaughter, Kandi Wedge of Florida; four great-grandchildren: Matthew (Yvonne) Jacobs, Joseph (Destinee Huffman) Jacobs, Sarah Jacobs, and Carson Bergey; two step-great-grandchildren: Cole Wedge and Kennen Wedge and several nieces and nephews.

Doris worked in Urbana during World War II making fruit ration bars for the troops.   She later worked at Silco for more than 15 years.  Being a dairy farmer’s wife, Doris also helped her husband with daily chores.   She was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church in Bellefontaine and more recently was a member of New Richland Baptist Church in Belle Center.  Doris blessed many people with her church potluck cooking, especially her chicken and noodles, and her pies.  Doris enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes football.  

Pastor Steve Smith will officiate the funeral service Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the New Richland Baptist Church where the visitation will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m.  

Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Richland Baptist Church  8651 Co Rd 39  Belle Center, OH 43310
