Doris Levon (Newcomb) Thomas, 47, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer Sunday, July 3, 2011 at her home. She was born November 20, 1963 in Bellefontaine, and worked as a manager at the Village Pantry in Bellefontaine.
Doris is survived by her mother Sharon (Knox) and Jerry Hoge of Bellefontaine; children: Brandy (Aaron) Newcomb of Quincy, Ohio, Brittney (Lavell) McBeth of Bellefontaine, and Blake (Ebony) Newcomb of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren: Payton, Macie, Braylon, Ashtin, Nate, Tysha; 4 brothers: Dickie Thomas, Porky (Nancy) Thomas, both of Bellefontaine, Gary (Kristi) Thomas of Lakeview, Ohio, and Tony (Chrysta) Poe of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was a loving mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank Universal Home Health Hospice for their caring service, especially Cindy, Polly, Janie and Kelly.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 1 to 3 P.M. and 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.
