Doris Whitlatch

Biography

Doris T. Whitlatch, 92, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 10:55 A.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at The Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville, Ohio.

She was born in Logan County Ohio May 2, 1921, to the late Calvin Frederick and Olive Theresa Hyer Yoesting. On November 24, 1939, she married Stephen A. Whitlatch and he preceded her in death March 25, 1991. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Clyde and Edwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Walter) Wyse of Marysville; two grandchildren, Steven Scott (Shelley) Wyse of Dublin, Ohio and Robert F. Wyse of Marysville; three great grandchildren, Griffin, Blake and Abigail; a sister, Mary Louise Fout of Bellefontaine; a special friend, Raymond Titus and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris had worked at Jamison Drug Store in Bellefontaine for a number of years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine for 60 plus years. She was a member of the Mizpah Circle of King’s Daughters and the United Methodist Women, where she was in charge of the food line for the annual bazaar. In her high school years, she was active in both playing and teaching music. She spent many happy hours at her place on Siesta Key.

Pastor Ed Beale will officiate the funeral service Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements were in care of the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
