Doris M. Zupp, 100, formerly of West Patterson Avenue in Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, February 25, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was the last of her family; her parents, six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Doris was the youngest child of David P. and Margaret (Lease) Zupp, born in Logan County February 11, 1914.
Doris was a retired nurse having graduated from St. Marys of the Springs Academy in August 1949 and Mount Carmel Hospital School of Nursing in September 1952. She retired at the age of 70 in 1984 after thirty five years of service as a registered nurse, including seventeen years at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
Doris served in World War II as part of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps and was a member of the Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173 for 50+ years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine.
Doris is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Thursday, February 27, 2014, from 4 to 6 P.M. with an American Legion service at 5:45 P.M. and the funeral service at 6 P.M. conducted by Deacon Harold Dipple. Interment will be held Friday, February 28, 2014, at 2 P.M. at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran's Honor Guard.
