Dorothy R. Cox, 89, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was born in Scioto County Ohio July 12, 1924, to the late Ollie and Ota (Humble) Mosbarger.
On August 11, 1941, she married W. Leo Cox in Magnetic Springs, Ohio and he preceded her in death May 18, 1986. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Hazel White, George Mosbarger, Martha Marmon, Margaret Mosbarger and Irene Bailey; son-in-laws, Benjamin Evans, Charles Martin and Gary Legge.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Sharon (Clell) Martin-Agler of Grove City, Ohio, Gary (Donna) Cox of Russells Point, Ohio, Sarah Jane (Lewis) Cunningham of Rushsylvania, Ohio, Barry (Cindy) Cox of Belle Center, Ohio, and Beverly (Mark) Thurston of Valrico, Florida; twenty three grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jim Mosbarger of Albany, Oregon, Howard (Eileen) Mosbarger of Urbana, Ohio, Don (Marsha) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine, Garnet (Fred) Roesel of Lafayette, Indiana and David (Diane) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of the DeGraff Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Wal-Mart after working many years in the fabric department. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and was a member of Kings Daughters. She loved to sew and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. At the age of sixty, Dorothy received her GED.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 5 to 8 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be Friday, July 26, 2013, at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Mike Idle officiating. Interment will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio.
