Dorothy Marie Eley Hunt, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, November 27, 2009, in Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born March 8, 1923, in Spencerville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Barrick) Eley.
She married Gail Hunt April 6, 1946 in Lakeview, Ohio, and he survives in Bellefontaine. Also surviving are two sons: Vernon Hunt of Bellefontaine and Stanley (Donna) Hunt of Dublin, Ohio; one brother, Oliver Eley of Sidney, Ohio, and two sisters; Annabelle Boshart of Englewood, Ohio, and Arletha McDowell of Dayton, Ohio. There are five grandchildren, two great grandchildren. One son, Stephen Hunt and one grandchild, preceded her in death.
She attended The First Church of God in Bellefontaine, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She graduated from Stokes High School in 1942. She had worked for Westinghouse Corporation, both in Lima and in Bellefontaine and later worked for Silco for 14 years.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday December 2, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Rev. John Eley, Rev. A. W. Purdin, and Pastor Ray Headings officiating. Burial will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 until 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the funeral home in Bellefontaine.
