Dorothy McCafferty

Dorothy P. McCafferty, 83, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:29 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born in Anna, Ohio on December 26, 1932 to the late George Irvin and Emma Mae (Arnold) Spillers.

On May 27, 1950 Dorothy married Pearl Arthur McCafferty in Bloom Center, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1994. She was also preceded in death by their infant son, Roy Dean McCafferty; seven sisters; and four brothers.

Dorothy is survived by her son Steve (Cheryl) McCafferty of Indian Lake Shores; a grandson, Steve Arthur (fiancé Kristen) McCafferty Jr of Indian Lake.; three great grandchildren, Kylie, Colton and Kyndal McCafferty; and a brother, Robert (Ann) Spillers of Sidney.

A 1950 graduate of Lewistown High School, Dorothy was a homemaker and worked at Silco for 11 years. She was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine where visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
