Dorothy M. Short

Dorothy M. Short, 76, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died Sunday, October 19, 2008, in her home. She was born in Logan County on January 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Harold and Cora Flickinger Kilgore. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Short; two brothers, Robert and Donald Kilgore; and three sisters, Mary Abrams, Joan Stanley and Patty McClure.

On February 5, 1950, she married Richard Short in Rushsylvania, Ohio, and he survives, along with a son, Doug (Jan) Short of Marysville, Ohio; a daughter, Joyce (Leroy) Peters of Moore, Oklahoma; sisters, Ruth Barrows of Pataskala, Ohio, Sue (Roger) Fultz of West Jefferson, Ohio and Shirley Davie of Kenton, Ohio; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and six great-step-grandchildren.

A member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, she worked as a cashier at the former Omart and Rink’s department stores, Tinsley’s IGA and Community Markets.

Pastor Michael Valentine conducts the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
