Doug Burton

Doug Burton, 74, of Rushsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born on October 23, 1950, in Lima, Ohio to the late Homer and Lorena (Bradley) Burton. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Paul Prater, Kelly Burton, and Judy Burton.

On December 27, 1974, he married the former Jane Patrick, and she survives in Rushsylvania. 

He also leaves behind his children: Eric (Christa) Cox and Kristy (Scott) Springhetti; grandchildren: Ali Cox, Madi Cox, Etta Springhetti, Emmy Springhetti, Scott Collins and Jacob Strine; siblings: Bea Collingsworth, Phyllis Fry, and Linda Dienstberger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug was a graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. He enjoyed being outside whether he was hunting, fishing, golfing, or playing ball. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, you could find him playing cards or in front of the TV watching NCIS, Law & Order or Criminal Minds. His pride and joy were his grandkids, he especially loved watching them play sports.

Doug will be cremated and there will be no public services at this time.
