Dr. Tony Clasen

Dr. Tony D. Clasen, age 60, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed over at 2:46 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.

He was born in Waseca, Minnesota July 8, 1954, to the late Francis Louis and Jacqueline (Hamlet) Clasen. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kristine Volkert.

In late summer of 1979, Tony met the love of his life, Mary Weldy of Goshen, Indiana. After a great ten month romance, Tony and Mary wed June 28, 1980 in Goshen.

Tony is survived by his four children; Sarah (Marshall) Sprinkle of West Liberty, Rachel (Samuel) Chege of Goshen, Indiana, Orlan Clasen of Columbus, Ohio and Hannah Clasen of West Liberty; two granddaughters, Sophia and Madilynn Sprinkle; a sister, Victoria (Glen) Whitehead; two brothers, Mark Clasen of Wisconsin and Steven (Anne) Clasen of Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved his entire family, and especially adored his children and granddaughters.

Tony and Mary established West Liberty Chiropractic and Massage Therapy. He possessed a passion for his career and lived for healing. Tony’s zest for life was evidenced by his many interests and hobbies. He was an avid technology connoisseur who loved music, animals, cars, sports and shopping. Tony was blessed with a “green thumb” and a thirst for knowledge.

Pastor Dick Barrett will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitors are encouraged to bring photos and favorite memories of Tony for the visitation display.

The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
