Dr. William Dodge

Dr. William Robert Dodge, 83, of Bellefontaine passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. He was born in Ostrander, Ohio on April 18, 1931 to the late William “Willy” and Helen (Pound) Dodge.

On June 23, 1957 he married Joanna Dorff and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his brother James Dodge.

He is survived by his three children; Lisa Dodge of Oak Park, Illinois, Susan (Scott Taylor) Dodge of Cincinnati, Ohio and Steven (Adrienne) Dodge of Spring Hill, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth; two sisters, Phyllis Depue of Arizona and Diane (Jerry) Smith of Nampa, Idaho.

Prior to graduating from The Ohio State College of Dentistry, Dr. Dodge attended Tarkio College in Missouri. He subsequently earned his Doctorate of Orthodontia from The Ohio State University. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine and Bellefontaine Elks Lodge #132. An avid OSU fan, Dr. Dodge enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, gardening and traveling.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
