Dr. William W. Doup II, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. He was born July 18, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, to the late Owen and Norma (Long) Doup. His former wife Jean Elizabeth Doup, preceded him in death December 7, 2002.

Surviving is a son, William (Julie) W. Doup III of West Mansfield, Ohio; daughters, Deborah (Robert) Vance, Patricia Doup Bailey and Dr. Kathleen (Thomas) Doup-Snapp all of Bellefontaine; his life partner, Colleen Powell; a sister, Carolyn Chatel of Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lee, Casey Vance, Elayna Vance, Jonathon Doup, Stephan (Jennifer) Johnson, Anthony Snapp, Natalie Snapp and adopted granddaughter, Danielle Billings; step grandchildren, Robert Vance Jr., April Bullion, Angie Bouic, Jessie McCoy, Jamie Holycross and Tommy Snapp; thriteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and in 1961, he graduated from the National College of Chiropractic, where he was an Alumni and a member of the O.S.C.A. In 1963, he started his business in Bellefontaine and recently achieved fifty years of chiropractic practice.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine and a member of the Symposiarchs, Moose Lodge, Eagles, Antioch Shrine in Dayton, Ohio, and a member of the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge #209. He was a Past Exalted Ruler for the B.P.O.E. Elks #132 and a Past President of Kiwanis. Bill was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed fishing. He also was the former team physician for Ridgemont High School football team.

Calling hours Monday, February 20, 2012, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where Rev. Brad Angus will officiate the 10:30 A.M. funeral service Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Interment will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
