Earl W. Himmeger, 80, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his residence.

He was born December 26, 1931, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Charlotte (Whethers) Himmeger. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Ivan and Lee Himmeger.

On August 1, 1954, he married Martina Mittermaier in McZena, Ohio, and she survives along with two sons, Mark (Tami) Himmeger of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Matthew (Larissa) Himmeger of Jackson Center, Ohio; a daughter, Martina Himmeger of Belle Center; two sisters, Evelyn Wiedeman and Helen (Bill) Mullenhour, both of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Billie Jo Himmeger of Powell, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Darbi, Malari, Madilyn and Meredith, and several nieces and nephews.

He was an office manager for Northwood Stone and Asphalt and after thirty five years of service, he retired in 1995.

Earl was a 1950 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and received his Bachelors of Art degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa in 1958. He was a Unites States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. A member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Delphos, he also attended the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine. A family man, Earl was a former clerk for Richland Township, a basketball official for forty three years, and was a member of the Sunset League bowling team.

Calling hours are Friday, May 11, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center. Pastor Jonathan D. Bull will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center, with Military Services preformed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
