Edmund T. Greider, 87, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday evening, April 16, 2025, at Otterbein Green Hills Senior Life Community.

Ed was born in West Liberty, Ohio, on July 16, 1937, to the late Joseph Alden Greider and Grace Marelda (Troyer) Greider. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Daniel Campbell, sister and brother-in-law Jean and Joe David Yoder, brother-in-law Dewayne Unruh, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Elaine Greider, Jr., and his beloved dog Daisy.

Ed is survived by his wife Loa Lea (Richardson) Greider, whom he married on August 5, 1972. Also surviving are children: Bonnie (Keith) Bell of Bellefontaine, David (Carol) Campbell of Bellefontaine, Allen (Sheila) Campbell of Bellefontaine, and Tobe (Michele) Greider of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren: Kim, Jeff, David, Levi, Gabriel, Abigail, Seth, Lukas, Gabriella, and Isaac; 21 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild and one more on the way; a sister Carol Unruh of Southlake, Texas; and several nieces and nephews and a longtime friend since childhood, Don King, who shared the thrill of driving fast cars and pushing excitement to their limit.

A 1955 graduate of West Liberty High School, Ed worked for many years alongside his father at Oak Hill Service Center & Used Car Sales. Ed was 35 years old and never married when he took the big leap and married Loa Lea, instantly becoming a father to three teenagers and a fourth child to be born later. He was a wonderful father to us all. He then worked for 13 years at Honda – Anna Engine Plant. During his retirement years, he and Loa Lea enjoyed 15 winters in Harlingen, Texas. Ed and Loa Lea attended Gretna Brethren Church.

At this time there will be no services, the family is planning a private celebration of his life for a later date.
