Edna Godwin

Edna Kathryn Godwin, age 97, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.

She was born August 20, 1916 in Logan County Ohio, to the late James C. and Luella Houchin Foulk.

On July 17, 1933, she married Harold W. Godwin in New Port, Kentucky and he preceded her in death May 3, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Gail Foulk; a half-brother, Harold Foulk, and a daughter-in-law, Ann Godwin.

Surviving are her sons, Eugene H. and Fred W. (Mardell) Godwin, both of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey (Kathy) Godwin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tammy (Tom) Allison of Bellefontaine, Wesley (Stephanie) Godwin of DeGraff, Ohio, April Sutliff of Bradenton, Florida, Christine (Larry) Carver of Candler, Florida, Lisa (Mike) Slagle of Lakeview, Ohio and Dale Godwin of Bellefontaine; twenty great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

Kathryn worked for Monarch Engineering, A.J. Miller and at Mary Rutan Hospital in housekeeping for twenty years.

She was a member of the First Church of God and O.E.S. #459. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafts, crossword puzzles and traveling with her husband, Harold.

Pastor Ron Irick will officiate the 1:00 P.M. service Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at the Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield, Ohio.
