Edward Carson, 70, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2009, at The Flower Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born January 29, 1939 in Hardin County, Ohio, to Carl and Eva (Dughman) who preceded him in death.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Anita (Ammons) of 47 years, whom he married on March 11, 1962; children, Gary (Gloria) Carson of Belle Center, Ohio, Renee (Ken) Wysong of Metamora, Ohio, and Jack (Mary) Carson of Metamora; grandchildren, Olivia Wysong, Ashley, Brittany, and Levi Carson, Jennifer (James) Ward, and Ross (Anja) Miller; as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Carl (Garnetta) Carson, John (Diane) Carson, Peg (Robert) Cronley, Jean (Joe) Kearns, Charles (Brenda) Carson, Kathy Beair, Robert (Linda) Carson and Richard (Beverly) Carson, and several nieces and nephews.
He served in the United States Army. Ed worked at Toledo Steel Tube and later retired from Kenneth Langenderfer Builders. After retirement, he spent many hours at the Sylvania Senior Center Workshop. He had a gift for making projects out of wood. He also enjoyed gardening and doing yard work. Ed especially loved watching his grandchildren play ball.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 6, 2009, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, Ohio, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Calling hours will then be Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 11 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
