Edward Henry

Edward D. Henry, 77, of DeGraff passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Essex of Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation in Springfield. He was born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio on July 22, 1937 to the late Donald and Alice (Lee) Henry.

Edward married Patricia Kellis in September 1966, and she preceded him in death in 1999. He later married Dorothy Louise Pernell, and she preceded him in death on December 25, 1997. A sister, Judy Henry-Wilkins, also preceded him in death.

Edward is survived by his three children; Scott Henry, Brian (Kelly) Henry and Marty “Mickey” (Dan) Peterson, all of Springfield; several grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Henry-Chess of Urbana; two brothers, Phil Henry of Sarasota, Florida and Mike Henry of Urbana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward was a retired machinist at White Motors in Springfield after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked 10 years at Grimes in Urbana. He was a Woodstock High School graduate and U.S. Air Force veteran. He especially enjoyed playing golf and harness horse racing.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 12 noon on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
